About Dr. Maja Mudri

Dr.TCM, R.TCMP, R. Ac. B.A.

The modern world we live in dictates a fast pace which often creates various imbalances and results in the malfunction of our bodies.  In order to maintain good health, the balance of the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual aspects of an individual must be regained.

Through the use of acupuncture and Tui Na, I help my patients free the body of its blockages to guide it towards a state of good health and full potential.  I believe that the right balance of physical and spiritual energy is the key to achieving a healthy and fulfilling life.

Through my years of academic and clinical practice at ICTCMV, BodaHealth and Anhui Hospital of Acupuncture and Moxibustion (China), I have treated numerous patients with a variety of disorders: digestive, metabolic, gynaecological, musculoskeletal injuries, stroke recovery - to name but a few.

During my internship in China, I received training in a wide variety of fields within Chinese Medicine including pediatrics; the treatment of children with Tui Na massage, moxibustion heat and herbal formulas.  In our culture, children are rarely treated with Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) largely because TCM is mostly associated with acupuncture and many parents feel that their children would not agree to having such a treatment.  Chinese Medicine offers a wide variety of non-invasive treatments which are often much more effective than continuous use of western medications that eventually weaken the child’s body. Using Tui Na as the primary method, I have successfully helped children regain and maintain the lost balance in order to grow into healthy and strong individuals.

I am still nourishing my passion for learning new languages which led me to obtaining my first degree in Linguistics and to live in different countries such as Guatemala and Russia.  I will never refuse a good book recommendation or a new knitting pattern to try out.  My weekends are often spent in the garden tending to various plants or experimenting in the kitchen with various spices and ingredients. My husband's love for photography often takes us on little hikes and adventures around the province where they take pleasure in every little gift that nature has to offer.
